10 of my favorite films....so far..

With it's combination of auditory and visual elements, a movie is arguably the best way of telling a story.
I started some serious movie watching about a couple of years back. That was because I thought, that I needed to explore this form of art and expression, but mainly because it made me feel good. After watching a good film, I felt changed. My outlook towards everything, evolved into something powerful and clear. It's something that you grow into, something that you adapt to. I owe a lot to some and wouldn't want to imagine a universe without them. It was not long before, this innocent hobby of mine, became a necessity. As luck would have it, my reading habit suffered and with every film I set my eyes on, I lost a part of my desire to read. I am going to list down ten of the many awesome movies I have watched, so that those of you who have not had the opportunity of gazing at the near-perfection of these priceless works, do the needful and at the same time, find out if your taste in movies is similar to mine. These are in no specific order and have earned equal admiration and praise from me. So, let's get on with it...

1. Fight Club(1999)

A movie which is equally disturbing as the novel on which it is based( Fight Club by Chuck Phalanuik). You cannot miss it for anything in the world, it will gobble your mind and spit it out when you least expect it. It leaves a lasting impact, some dialogues will remain forever etched in your brain. One of the most influential movies you're ever likely to see.

 2. Inception(2010)

A mind-boggling creation of Christopher Nolan which features skilled actors, a well-written plot and adrenaline-simulating action. Watch it carefully, preferably alone and eliminate distractions to maximize comprehension of it's intricate story-line.

3. Twelve Monkeys(1995)

Science Fiction in it's purest form, with superb acting and unpredictable story.

4. The Big Lebowski(1998)

A movie which is close to my heart, which gave birth to the world's coolest religion(Dudeism) of which I, myself, am a proud follower. I've quoted more dialogues from this movie than any other. A comedy which is, like any other Coen Brothers' film, thought-provoking, witty and with something much more than what meet the eye. The Dude is one of the best fictitious characters in existence, according to me. It is one of those movies which you can watch again and again, alone or together with someone and it never gets old. Each line of dialogue is thoughtful and interesting. A fun and entertaining film for lethargy ridden weekends.

5. The Matrix Trilogy

Sci-fi action fans: Get this as fast as possible!
Stylized action is a highlight of this movie.

6. Dazed And Confused(1993)
A great, realistic and engrossing film with a kickass soundtrack. It does not promise to lead you to a satisfying end but makes the whole journey worthwhile and believable. A comedy to watch more than once.

7. The Gangs Of Wasseypur 1 and 2

My favorite Bollywood movie. What I loved about it was the realistic violence and, the intelligent and subtle humor. Add to that the convincing and fabulous performance by the actors and you get the perfect crime movie.

8. Oldboy(2003)

A dark, gruesome and violent quest for revenge. The direction is splendid and the lead character is brilliantly created, he invokes sympathy and at the same time, disgust.

9. Wheels On Meals(1984)

The trio of Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao is absolutely fantastic, as they battle ruthless crime-lords. It's admirable how the union of martial arts and comedy is accomplished.

10. Borat(2006)

An offensive comedy starring one of the most dedicated actors of all time, Sacha Baron Cohen. One cannot possibly help laughing his/her guts out.

BONUS: FAVORITE DOCUMENTARIES
